2012 NASAO Washington Legislative Conference
This year the NASAO Washington Legislative Conference is being held in conjunction with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) 2012 Spring Briefing in Washington, D.C. February 26-28, 2012. AASHTO and NASAO already work closely together through joint membership on AASHTO’s Stating Committee on Aviation. The synergies of producing this event will bring the organizations closer and broaden the partnership between the nation’s premier transportation infrastructure advocates.
The conference starts on Sunday, February 26 with NASAO member business meetings in the afternoon. Monday morning features an opening plenary session during which Washington, D.C. transportation leaders discuss the value of transportation investments to the economy, and the need to reauthorize the federal-aid highway and transit programs and the FAA/AIP program and a general session roundtable discussion featuring perspectives from U.S. DOT. A nationally recognized state government leader will provide the luncheon address. The afternoon includes concurrent session including aviation specific choices. That evening participants enjoy a Congressional reception on the hill. Tuesday morning begins with a NASAO/AASHTO Standing Committee on Aviation breakfast meeting followed by a program of NASAO forums tailored to issues relevant to NASAO members. The afternoon is free for those NASAO members who are able to make visits to their Congressional delegations. The agenda details the NASAO activity during the conference.

NASAO AT EAA AIRVENTURE
For many years NASAO has represented the interests of the states by exhibiting at the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. AirVenture is the largest gathering of aviation enthusiasts and aircraft in the world and offers the states an excellent opportunity to showcase their state and what it offers.

2012 NASAO ANNUAL CONVENTION AND TRADESHOW
The NASAO Annual Convention and Tradeshow brings state aviation officials and members of the aviation community together to discuss issues facing the industry today and tomorrow. A day and half of forums feature key executives from industry and government discussing the current state of affairs of the GA community, a candid look at regulatory and legislative issues, GA security, NextGen and other issues facing the states and airports. The exhibit hall features vendors ready to assist the states and airports in meeting their challenges with products and services. Spouses, friends, and alumni – former NASAO members who have served in state aviation positions – may enjoy a special guest agenda that showcases special attractions to be found at the event location. In addition to NASAO committee meetings and the annual member meeting and roundtable, NASAO members hold the Annual NASAO/FAA Summit with Federal Aviation Administration Regional Administrators.
Details for the 2012 NASAO Annual Convention and Tradeshow to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah September 9-11 will be available in April, 2012.
