Our Vision: To be the nationally recognized voice for the public interest, states and territories on aviation and the national aviation system.

Beginning on Monday, November 17th Greg Principato will officially become NASAO’s President and CEO, ushering in a new season for the Association. In the relatively short time since the announcement hit the streets, I’ve heard from many state directors, business associates here in Washington D.C. and aviation friends from around the country. Each one has said something along the lines of “great choice,” “you’ll like Greg,” “he will do a great job,” “he will be good for NASAO.”

It’s always nice to hear those things, however in this case it wasn’t necessary. Although I haven’t known Greg long, I immediately knew that he was someone I could learn from and enjoy working with. And more importantly, I do believe that he will be a good fit for NASAO. Greg brings with him the right qualities, strategic and beneficial experiences and the right attitude to lead our members in a direction that will benefit and be important to each state.

I look forward to the coming year – to work with Greg, to embrace the many opportunities, engage the challenges and to continue to serve each of you to the best of my ability.

NASAO is one of the most senior aviation organizations in the United States, predating even the Federal Aviation Administration’s predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. The states first established NASAO to ensure uniformity of safety measures, to standardize airport regulations and develop a truly national air transportation system responsive to local, state, and regional needs. NASAO holds two formal conferences each year – our Annual Convention and Trade Show, typically held in September and a Washington Legislative Conference held in the nation’s Capital during the February/March timeframe.
