NORTH DAKOTA’S RISE IN PASSENGER NUMBERS CONTINUES

North Dakota continues to set a new standard for the year of 2014 when compared to 2013’s total number of passengers traveled through its airports. The state saw nearly 110,000 passengers in October 2014 which is a new record for the month. That’s also a 12% increase over last year’s numbers. So far in 2014 the state has seen nearly an 8.7% increase over the numbers seen in 2014. October is also the earliest month that North Dakota has reached one million passengers traveled.

NASAO is one of the most senior aviation organizations in the United States, predating even the Federal Aviation Administration’s predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. The states first established NASAO to ensure uniformity of safety measures, to standardize airport regulations and develop a truly national air transportation system responsive to local, state, and regional needs. NASAO holds two formal conferences each year – our Annual Convention and Trade Show, typically held in September and a Washington Legislative Conference held in the nation’s Capital during the February/March timeframe. NASAO also has a presence at EAA’s AirVenture, held each year in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in late July.
