NEW T&I COMMITTEE REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCED

Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster welcomes 12 Republican Members who will join the Committee in the 114th Congress. This includes two members who have been elected to their third terms and ten who are freshman. “I am pleased to welcome these new Republican additions to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for the 114th Congress,” Shuster said.  “The Committee will have a full agenda next year, including reauthorizations of federal surface transportation, aviation, and passenger rail programs.” Shuster said the added perspectives and ideas of the new Members will be an asset to their experienced team as they continue developing legislation that strengthens infrastructure and makes America more competitive.

The new Committee Members expected to be officially approved by the Republican Conference in January are (in order of seniority): U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall of Georgia; U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita of Indiana; U.S. Rep. John Katko of New York; U.S. Rep. Brian Babin of Texas; U.S. Rep. Cresent Hardy of Nevada; U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello of Pennsylvania

U.S. Rep. Garret Graves of Louisiana; U.S. Rep. Mimi Walters of California; U.S. Rep. Barbara Comstock of Virginia; U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo of Florida; U.S. Rep.David Rouzer of North Carolina and U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York.

NASAO is one of the most senior aviation organizations in the United States, predating even the Federal Aviation Administration’s predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. The states first established NASAO to ensure uniformity of safety measures, to standardize airport regulations and develop a truly national air transportation system responsive to local, state, and regional needs. NASAO holds two formal conferences each year – our Annual Convention and Trade Show, typically held in September and a Washington Legislative Conference held in the nation’s Capital during the February/March timeframe. NASAO also has a presence at EAA’s AirVenture, held each year in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in late July.
