WEST VIRGINIA AND ARKANSAS SENATORS CO-CHAIR GA CAUCUS

U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., will co-chair the bipartisan Senate General Aviation (GA) Caucus in the 114th Congress along with U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark. Boozman and Manchin will take the lead for informing Senate colleagues about GA’s crucial contributions to the nation’s economy and transportation system. Manchin, a pilot himself said that general aviation makes a tremendous impact on West Virginia’s economy and on the nation as a whole.

Boozman said in Arkansas, general aviation airports support more than $500 million annually in economic activity, and nearly 10,000 Arkansans work in aviation and aerospace manufacturing. General Aviation plays a vital role in the nation’s transportation system, accumulating more than $150 billion in annual revenue, sustaining 1.3 million jobs and overseeing 5,000 airports nationally.
