GCR to Conduct Airport Inspection Training at NASAO Annual Convention

Due to an increase in demand for additional airport inspection (5010) training, GCR, Inc. will conduct a class during the National Association of State Aviation Officials’ (NASAO) annual Convention and Trade Show scheduled for September in Fair Hope, Alabama.

“We’re really appreciative of the GCR team for their willingness to host this in-demand 5010 training program at our annual conference,” said NASAO President and CEO Mark Kimberling. “It’s such a valuable addition to the agenda as we continue to enhance our education and training offerings for state staff at all levels — whom we’re looking forward to seeing in good numbers in Alabama.”

“The Airport Master Record Seminar is classroom training designed to instruct State and contractor personnel the procedures for conducting an airport inspection in a manner acceptable to the FAA and to provide accurate aeronautical information to the FAA,” said Richard Gossen, GCR’s Manager, Federal Aviation Services. “Airports are inspected periodically to ensure they meet minimum safety standards, comply with various regulations and recommendations in FAA Advisory Circulars, and to make sure that information published about the airport for pilots is accurate and up to date.”

NASAO is one of the most senior aviation organizations in the United States, predating even the Federal Aviation Administration’s predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. The states first established NASAO to ensure uniformity of safety measures, to standardize airport regulations and develop a truly national air transportation system responsive to local, state, and regional needs.
